PROPOSAL INFORMATION

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This project is for 25 Retro Coding Arcade programming learning machines that supports block programming and python coding. The Arcade allows students to utilize their coding skills to create high resolution games through block coding. In the process of learning programming, students can use Python coding language and Makercode graphical programming language to quickly develop their computational thinking skills. Students will be able to create their games and share with their peers passing arcades to one another to play their games. The Retro coding Arcade allows students to use lego spike prime pieces to decorate the consule to add extra detail to their project. Students are already fimilar with the lego pieces as we use them in makerspace frequently.

PLEASE DESCRIBE HOW YOU WILL DETERMINE IF THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES ARE ACHIEVED SUCCESSFULLY:

I will know that I have met my objective when my students are successfully creating games that have a start, a mission and end. Student's will also be sucessful when other students are able to play their coded games.

PROVIDE A SCHEDULE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF YOUR PROPOSED PROJECT:

The Retro Coding Arcade will be used in all Makerspace classes and by all students as soon as we receive them. Photos of students using the Retro Coding Arcade will be sent to LPSF no later than March 31st.

If grant is awarded, the resources are the property of Lawton Public Schools and should be placed on your school/classroom inventory. If you transfer to a new school within our district, you may take the resources with you, unless the grant was given to a specific program, group or school. If you leave the district, the resources will remain the property of LPS.
