Due to the iPad purhcases having to be channeled through the Tech Dept., which is on a different campus, it was late in teh school year when we received our technology. We were able to utilize teh new itmes for a couple of weeks before our final school concert. We are, however, already utilizing this technology for this new school year.

Our classroom is a rehearsal/performance based class, so we spend a good deal of time with students split into small groups for sectional and voice part reheasrsal. Our classroom can accommodate this thatnks to the practice rooms that are built in. While students do have chromebooks, their volume capacity to play rehearsal tracks, even for a small group, is quite low. Students frequently complained that they could not hear the music once their group began to sing along. Having the iPads and speakers for each group to take into their practice rooms has elimated this problem. It allows all students to have a successful rehearsal each day. As a result, we are able to accomplish more in a shorter amount of time. We also do not have to rely on, firstly, students having their chromebook availalbe, and secondly, making sure they still have a charge by our afternoon class times.
