GRANT

$813.41

This grant funded a variety of interactive board and card games to enhance 8th-grade students’ understanding and enjoyment of mathematics. Designed to create an engaging environment where students can strengthen essential math skills while developing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, these games provide a hands-on opportunity for students to work together in the classroom.

The selected games offer differentiated opportunities for students to practice foundational skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers. In addition, many of the purchased games reinforce key algebraic concepts such as writing and evaluating expressions and writing, solving, and graphing linear functions.

Offering these games in the classroom allows students to step away from traditional instruction and engage in hands-on learning. By integrating gameplay into the learning process, this project helps build confidence, increase student motivation, and foster a more positive attitude toward mathematics.
