With the grant I recieved I purchased aprox. 33 sound proof drum pads with sticks and a carrying case. These pads are amazing! they are sound proof so the pad absorbs the blunt of the imapat made by the sticks and we can practice without hurting our ears. The pads are also portable and easily carried and stored. My music students at Lincoln have been using the pads alot and we have learned so much already from how to hit the pad to create dynamics from loud to soft to using the sticks to learn percussion rudiments. We have even pracitced some songs already. Our scholars are doing so well with them and I am excited to see all the progress they will be making this year and next.
