The Resources We Purchased

With this grant, we were able to acquire a professional-grade inventory of tools and materials that allow students to experience a true "job site" environment. These include:

Professional Power & Hand Tools: From orbital sanders to a Miter Saw, these are the same tools our students will use in their future homes and careers.

The "Raw Materials" of Creation: We purchased an initial stock of lumber, fasteners, and finishes. These are the physical building blocks that students turn into functional furniture.

Safety & Precision Gear: High-quality work gloves, dust masks, and safety glasses ensure that our first priority is always student well-being.

The Impact: Building More Than Just Furniture

While the "output" of this grant is physical furniture, the true "outcome" is the development of our students' character and capabilities.

1. From "Students" to "Craftspeople"

For many of these students, this is the first time they have ever held a power tool. This grant moves them past the intimidation of the unknown. When a student takes raw 2x4 lumber and turns it into a sturdy campus bench, they gain a sense of agency and pride that cannot be taught through a textbook.

2. Vocational Readiness

We are currently facing a national shortage of skilled tradespeople. By funding this project, you are providing a "head start" for students who may go into construction, engineering, or interior design. They are learning safety protocols, blueprint reading, and teamwork—the universal language of the modern workforce.
