Here at the LPS Foundation, we know that the size of the difference that we make does not matter. There is no difference that is too small to be meaningful, and there is no difference that is so great as to be enough. What matters is that we are all seizing the opportunity and doing our part in making a difference. The mission of our Foundation is to enhance the educational experience of Lawton Public School students and faculty through technology, programs, materials and extra-curricular activities.

Today’s Teacher Grant Story comes from Samantha Martin of Cleveland Elementary. Samantha purchased LEGO Educational SPIKE Essential kits for her students. She explained, “These kits allow students to design, build, and program their creations—from moving vehicles to interactive characters—while learning the basics of engineering, problem-solving, and computer programming. Even our youngest learners can grasp big concepts like cause and effect, sequencing, and collaboration, all while having fun and working together.”“For many students, this is their first time learning coding or robotics in such an interactive way. The kits make science, technology, engineering, and math (Makerspace) approachable and exciting, sparking creativity and building confidence. They encourage teamwork, perseverance, and critical thinking—skills that students will carry far beyond the classroom. Thanks to this grant, our school can offer experiences that inspire future innovators and problem-solvers, ensuring that every child sees themselves as capable of creating and leading in a technology-driven world.”Seeing our contribution translate into engaging, technology-driven learning opportunities aligns perfectly with the LPS Foundation’s mission to empower and inspire every learner. We are proud to support initiatives that equip students with the skills and confidence to thrive in a rapidly changing world. ... See MoreSee Less

Today’s LPSF Teacher Grant Story comes from Colby Turner at MacArthur Middle School. Colby said, “I teach Farm to Table at MacArthur Middle School. We received two smaller chicken coops that we will be using to start our purebred chicken lines and to raise our chicks that we will be hatching in class. Our pond insert we got will not only bring some beauty to our garden but will also allow our ducks a place to swim.”“We have apple, peach, cherry, pear, apricot, and blackberry and blueberry bushes. Most of my students have never been to a farm or even grown any vegetables at home. With these items I will be able to teach my students a better understanding of life on a small farm. Having my students outside of the classroom and using their hands to achieve this goal is one of the best ways to educate any student. They have assisted me in building the coops, digging the hole for the pond insert, and will be digging the holes for the fruit trees and bushes that will be planted very soon. We spend most of our time outside and having these extra items has helped me to educate my students. Thank you again for all your support!”It’s inspiring to see your students so engaged in hands-on learning and gaining such meaningful experiences with farming, sustainability, and nature. We’re delighted the support went toward such an impactful and educational project. Your dedication to providing these opportunities truly makes a difference! ... See MoreSee Less

Larry K. Freeman endowment allows LPS Foundation an opportunity to help principals meet some of the basic needs of their students. Today a principal sent me this message -“A single mom is no longer getting child support and struggling. We were able to help her burden, thanks to LPSF Friends in Need! I’m crying tears of JOY!”This endowment was established by a community member in his estate. He said he wanted to help provide food, clothes and basic needs for students. ... See MoreSee Less
