Mr. Larry Freeman’s desire was to help the youth of this community to better their life. If you are doing the best that you can academically, are a person of good character, and strive to be productive, please apply.

The LPS Foundation Scholarship Committee will select two well rounded students that are hard workers and have a desire to continue their education in a college/university or technical school environment to better their life. The applicant must attend an accredited Oklahoma College/University or technical school in the subsequent fall semester. The $1,500.00 scholarship will be paid in one installment to your college/university or technical school. It may be used for tuition, fees, books, or room and board. We encourage you to spend an hour of your time to complete this short application. A 4.0 grade point average is not required.

The Scholarship money will be on file with your college, university or technical school and may be used for tuition, fees, books or room and board. Upon admission, notify the Lawton Public School Foundation and provide an official address to which the money should be sent.

Application period closes April 1, 2026.

The application must be completed in one sitting. We recommend gathering the following information before starting your scholarship application, in addition to reviewing the questions below.

  • LPS student ID number
  • Weighted & unweighted GPA
  • Email addresses of two adults (1 must be school affiliated) that you would like to complete a recommendation on your behalf

Letters of Recommendation

Provide two letters of recommendation - one school official and one adult non-relative. Once you submit this form, you will go through two more short forms, and will be allowed to enter the email addresses of the people whom you'd like a recommendation from. They will be sent the required form via email.
