LPS Foundation Partners with Cameron University to Award Scholarships
Lawton Public School Foundation is excited to partner with Cameron University in awarding scholarships for individuals currently working for Lawton Public Schools. Together, LPS Foundation and Cameron University awarded scholarships to individuals striving to become educators, or current educators with a desire to earn a masters degree. We believe that quality teachers are the greatest asset we can provide to students. LPS Foundation is honored to be a part of awarding these scholarships, and was able to gift $10,000 to the fund.
The following are the results funded:
Emergency or Alternatively certified teachers taking courses to complete standard certification:
- Number of Awards Given: 11
- Total Monetary Amount: $11,750
Support staff attending to earn a bachelor’s degree to become a teacher:
- Number of Awards Given: 5
- Total Monetary Amount: $4,500
Teachers holding a standard teaching certificate and are pursuing a M.Ed. in Reading or M.S. in Educational Leadership:
- Number of Awards Given: 7
- Total Monetary Amount: $10,500
Total Awards Given: 23
Total Monetary Amount: $26,750
The remaining $3,250 will be awarded in the spring ’23 semester.
