The resources purchased were two novel sets, Charlotte’s Webb and Hatchet. Students were allowed to use a copy of the set to read on their own as well as during class. The project encouraged students to use literature and understand the meaning behind the written novels. After completed chapters of the novels a discussion during class was held. Topics like “how could that have been a different outcome?’, ‘how would you have handled the situation?’ In addition to open discussions, students were able to learn new vocabulary words and their meanings.
