I was so thankful to be chosen as recipient and to have the opportunity to purchase much needed speech sound production target cards. These cards are unique in that they are specifically created with the young learner in mind and in combination to an evidence based program. These words were carefully created with speech therapy evidence based practices as a guide, to help facilitate accurant speech productions. Young students at the pre-k level often continue to use patterns of simplification when speaking which makes their message hard to understand. Many young students have difficulty moving past the time period when these patterns of simplification are typically eliminated, which can put a student at risk for reading difficulties later down the road. The products I was able to purchase have made such a difference with my littles and combined with evidence based practice techniques, they are feeling more confident and making progress all while having fun with high frequency words and age appropriate pictures that they can relate to.Thank you to the donors and to the foundation for making a difference and supporting Lawton Public Schools children and staff.
