Pillar of The Month

October, 2023: Andrea Tracy

October, 2023: Andrea Tracy

Andrea Tracy is an Assistant Principal for Eisenhower High School and has been a pillar for the Foundation since 2019. Throughout her tenure at LPS, she has worked in many areas at different schools. During that time, she witnessed firsthand the impact the Lawton Public School Foundation can have on students and faculty like their donation of funds to purchase 15 chrome books for the district.

“The LPSF provides an avenue to fund classrooms in a systematic manner, ensuring that the funds go towards purchases that align with best practices, the goals of the district and state academic standards. Teachers want to provide EVERY learning opportunity they can to our students. Educators shouldn’t have to choose between buying snacks for their students and buying lab supplies. However, sometimes they have to make those decisions and the LPSF grants alleviate some of that stress while enhancing the learning environment of our youngest community members.”
-Andrea Tracy, Asst. Principal, Eisenhower High School

Tracy began teaching when she was 35 years old, and decided education was her passion. She has served on several committees such as the initial district ICAP, Cameron Advisory Committee, character.org, National Academies of Science, and more. She strives to be a positive and realistic advocate for LPS and their students, and does all she can to share her passion for education with others. Giving to the LPSF, is another way she accomplishes that goal.

“I started with a small donation and over the years have worked up to being a Pillar member, giving a little more with each raise I received. Donating to LPSF allows me to give back to a program that directly supported me and my students in the past and continues to support my students and teachers in the present. “
-Andrea Tracy, Asst. Principal, Eisenhower High School

“It’s very inspiring to see people like Andrea who are so invested in the success of the students and educational system. And then for her to make it a priority to give part of her paycheck each month to the Foundation is so generous. She came to us when she got a raise, and said ‘I need to give the Foundation more!’ We need more philanthropic people like her in the world.“
-Lawton Public School Foundation

Without the support of Pillars like Andrea Tracy, LPSF would not be able to provide the support and resources that we do to the teachers and students of Lawton Public Schools.
