Our school office is in the process of ordering. I am so excited to receive the materials! I will use the numbers pocket chart every morning during calendar time and the students will be able to use it during centers. I can’t wait to use it during small groups to work on a variety of math skills. I will also use the alphabet pocket chart every morning during calendar time and the students will be able to manipulate the chart during centers! I will be able to use the activity cards and number cards during whole group lessons and small groups! Students love new items and are excited to learn! I can’t thank you enough for your generous donations for students! Thank you for supporting our LPS students and teachers! I look forward to using the items every day!

Dictionaries are Still Relevant
Thank you for the grant. With the grant, our school was able to purchase class sets of dictionaries for two fourth grade and two fifth grade classes. The students were excited to delve into our new dictionaries. First things first, the students worked in partners on a Dictionary Scavenger Hunt to learn about the different features of a dictionary. They were focused and engaged. The students practiced more research skills by playing a few of rounds of Mystery Word. It makes a teacher’s heart full to hear students say, “This is fun!”. They students became more efficient in their analytical and research skills and learned some new words along the way. It’s a win!!!
Make your Mark–Bookmark, That Is!
As the librarian, I try to promote reading and becoming lifelong readers; therefore, bookmarks are essential! We have a cup full of bookmarks, and the students enjoy seeing all of the different ones the Foundation gave us and being able to choose one that is appealing. Thanks so much!!!
Vertical Grow Towers
“In school, we teach abstract concepts–but the students aren’t always invested in it. Bringing the hydroponics tower into our Gifted and Talented classroom allows my students the real-world experience to be a positive change in the world. Teaching them (through vertical gardening techniques) how to grow better produce with less water and resources will give them the power to conserve water in their own homes and gardens now and in the future. Thank you, Lawton Public Schools Foundation!”
