CHE Garden

The Lawton Public School Foundation grant has been an amazing blessing to our students. The students have been able to watch our plants grow and are excited to see what will become. Thank you so much for investing in our students. This experience will stay with them for a lifetime.

Oh Snap!

The support and generosity of the LPS Foundation allowed the LPS Elementary Gifted Program to purchase four cameras. With those cameras, gifted 2nd-5th grade students have been participating in a photography unit. So far, the students have completed a photography scavenger hunt, learned about composition and the Rule of Thirds, used their photographs to create advertisements, and discovered how to use creativity to make everyday objects look interesting.

Student Podcast

LPS Foundation awarded Mary Hanson $5,741 for podcast equipment for Lawton Virtual Academy and GATEWAY Success Center. This was their first official podcast! The students did 100% of the creating, editing, broadcasting and producing!

Resources to Create Terrarium

The students were able to have a hands on demonstration of how an ecosystem works, along with the water cycle. They also learned how even though everyone had the same supplies, there were different outcomes. The classes also compared how their terrarium plants were growing compared to the plants in our lab area with grow lights.

Makerspace Resources

Thank you Lawton Public Schools for funding our Makerspace Resources grant. My DLC Middle School Gateway students are loving the materials to create, build, and problem solve, while socializing with each other. We appreciate you!

Tricycle Carousel

On behalf of the 5 self contained classrooms at Learning Tree, we’d like to give the LPSF a HUGE shoutout of appreciation . Our students have various special needs and this grant has afforded us with more opportunities to work on gross motor skills, turn taking, and sharing goals. Our kids are loving this new playground equipment and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of LPSF. Thank you!
